Reimagine Learning

Fernando Reimers’s work explores how education can help people build more just, democratic, peaceful, and sustainable societies. His central idea is that education systems must do more than transmit knowledge: they must develop the capacities people need to understand a changing world, collaborate across differences, exercise responsible citizenship, and improve their communities.

His research and teaching examine global citizenship, democracy, climate change, artificial intelligence, teacher development, educational leadership, and large-scale reform. Across these areas, he emphasizes the importance of connecting ambitious purposes with practical strategies—curriculum, pedagogy, professional learning, leadership, and public policy—that enable schools and universities to turn educational ideals into meaningful opportunities for all learners.
